The Raccoon River Watershed Association invites photographers to attend Nature Photography: Ideas, Challenges, and Solutions Aug. 7 in Perry.
Attendees will learn how the nature photographer can use phenology to better understand nature’s calendar and anticipate the occurrence of natural events, including when various species of flowers bloom, when, where, and why various bird species migrate, when mammals bear their young, general behavior, and more.
Presenter will be Ty Smedes of Urbandale, a fulltime outdoor writer and Iowa photographer. Visit smedesphoto.com for more information.
The program will assume attendees know how to use their camera, including basic photography techniques, and will instead concentrate on ideas, challenges, solutions, and planning a nature photography project. All experience levels welcome.
The program will be held Saturday, Aug. 7, from 10 am to noon at the Dallas County conservation department meeting room at Forest Park and Museum southeast of Perry. The free event is open to everyone. There is no need to bring a camera; all experience levels are welcome.
